No such a good idea.... Just do crunchhes, and remember, you won't get a 6-pack (or just really great abs) if your stomach has fat on it... you need to eat better as well

Crunches are a great way to tone your stomach. But you need to loose the extra tummy in order for those sexy muscles to show through. The trash bag will not help. There is no way for you to target WHERE you will loose the weight on your body.

First you need to take a look at your daily diet. What kinds of foods do you eat? Try eating out less and eating at home more. It is a lot easier to limit your calorie intake when you eat at home. Look at the total number of calories, then look at the number of calories from fat. If it is more than 30%, then the food is too fatty. Its really easy to figure out if it is more than 30%. Take the number of fat calories and multiply by 3. If it is more than the total number of calories, the fat calories are more than 30%. That is the main thing I look at when I am at the grocery store. I also try to pick foods that are low in sugar, and high in fiber. With every meal, I try to include a piece of fruit and some vegitables. I keep a package of salad and a bottle of low-fat dressing at work. Stay away from iceberg lettice. It lacks vitamins. The darker and more colorful the vegitable, the more vitamins it contains. I like to buy the 'mixed herb' salad bag at Trader Joes, that way I'm getting a wide variety of vitamins. Also, cut down on flavored drinks like soda and fruit juice (it is amazing how much sugar is in fruit juice!). Ice Tea is a great beverage because it doesn't have sugar (assuming you don't add any) and it tastes great.

Now lets move onto exercise. I don't know what your fitness level is. I personally think running is the best form of exercise, ever. No matter what your prefered form of exercise is, try to get 30 - 45 minutes in each day. Maybe you could go for a light run 3 times a week and go walking the other days. Maybe you can try hiking a short trail this weekend. Maybe you can try that interesting spinning class at the gym after work. Exercise opportunities are all around you. Once you get into the habit of exercise, you will find your body looking foreward to it. When I get off work I'm going to go run around the Rose Bowl, and I can't wait!

Now that you've lost a few pounds, you will be really glad you did those crunches. Your abs will be showing through!

The crunches and situps are OK, I guess, but the trash bag doesn't help. It makes you sweat more, but if you've got a fat tummy, it's not because of extra water, it's because of fat. When you exercise, your body will slowly use that extra flab for energy, but making your stomach sweat more doesn't help that.

In fact, being dehydrated isn't good for exercising or losing fat, it can slow the process down. And it looks a bit silly, too. Next time, spend some time running/walking/bicycling, that's the best way to burn off energy, and fat!

You wrapped a trash bag around your waist.....? Why....? Okay, the key to exercising is to just to do it; moderately at first, obviously, so you're not overdoing it. A trash bag will not help flatten your stomach, I'm sorry to say.

That's the cheap way to do it. It's better to have a neoprene one, it actually holds in the heat around your waist to burn out the fat as sweat.

No. It will make you sweat and you will become dehydrated, but you won't lose fat.
