Dirty bombs cause no real radiological damage, only widespread fear into what people would do. The dynamite as the explosive component would be the only real damage. I also saw a few weeks ago the radiological tests were based on a person standing next to the fallout for a year, in which case no ascernable damage could be found.

This is the only suspect part I know of the Ramadan dirty bomb attack on America articles that are out.

cluster bombs aren't dirty bombs. Do you know of any dirty bombs used by Isreal?

OK, the reason why I believe what I said is because I saw it in an anti-government documentary from the inventors of the dirty bomb itself and how their hopes were dashed no matter how much radiological material they used.

It's a three hour documentary and anyone who emails me, I'll find the links for you.

If you are downwind of any radiological release, then you are susceptible to breathing it in or ingesting it some other way.
Any heavy radiation will kill you if they are ingested.
When the bomb goes off it does no radiological damage, the radioactive material is what makes the bomb dirty to start with.
There would be plenty of death in a dirty bomb detonation.
Radiation sickness would kill and injure on a wide scale.

Some people base all their knowledge and fear of nukes on cancer. Cancer is not the only disease that comes from nukes. We know this by all the other radiation...hiroshima, nevada, xrays, etc. It causes (like chemicals do) mutations in the cells and diseases like cancer, endometriosis, reduced fertility, birth defects, lowered immune system and a host of other chronic, disabling illnesses that don't necessarily kill you but destroy your quality of life. Also, if one dies of a complication of a chronic "benign" disease, they don't count that as a death of that disease. Dirty bombs are just that. Dirty. Whether radiation, man made dust in the blast, or whatever. Look at 9/11. They aren't admitting a dirty bomb, but something whether the jet fuel or the man made dust is making those people sick. Look up the long term of hiroshima or the tests in nevada (over 1000!). There's alot more to it than cancer and that's all those reports disclose (except for propoganda that nukes are safe).

Ok, if you want to beleive the US on that, but I worked with various grades at a research lab, and it all depends on the level, in general this sounds like a PR sheet so we do not panic.

Depending on the level of radiation, some can cause instant death from merely being in an unprotected area with it. ( and this is not even weapons grade.

So if the particals of this was blown up, the area right were the bomb is would kill most at once from the radiation, but the futher out from the blast site, the less instant damage that would be done. ( alot depending on air movement) It would all depend on the amount of material and the grade level of it.

It would kill many one or two years latter, and cuase other problems, although radiation posioning is treatable now.

But what it would do is make that part of any major city not usable and anything in it not usable for years to come.

So how would you like to block for 3 blocks of NY for the next 10 years.

Now yes if they use material out of a hospital, but if they get high grade weapons material, then it is much different issue.

I'd like to see that.

Good to hear since that is one of the big things we are expecting them to try.
