I have the worse kind of OCD and I hoping that someone ..........anyone please could help before its too late. I have a fear of diseases. I also have a fear of opaque dyes and xrays. I have been dealing with this for the last two years since my husband took ill.
Does anyone know of the right course of meds. I am currently using 30mg of Lexapro and 50 mg of trazadone to sleep nightly. I wake up terrified but manage to go to work. Right now I am imagining that I have to have a chest xray and that I have to go to a cardiologist.
I know that I am asking very bizarre and selfish questions, but I was hoping that someone.anyone knew some answers
Thank you

You might want to consult with a psychiatrist about medications.

I'm not a trained professional, but what you describe sounds more like phobias than OCD. In that case, a psychotherapist who specializes in phobias might be more helpful than medication.

Either way, it sounds like you're pretty miserable. So it's a good idea to get help quickly. The sooner you see someone, the sooner you'll start feeling better.

You definitely need to call your doctor and tell him about your fears. He may need to adjust your medicaton. If you have just started these meds., it will take 2 to 3 weeks to take effect. This is a frightening condition and you are wise to understand that you need help. Good luck & God bless.

It's different for everyone. Work with your doctor and/or therapist until you find the meds that work best for you. It may take several tries. Good luck, hang in there. You'll beat this thing.

from what u have described, it sounds like phobia, with hypochondriasis maybe (although the diagnosis of hypochondriasis needs some chriteria to be met) rather than OCD...
about best treatment & course of therapy .. best is to ask u're treating Dr.

Meds are fine, but you have to get counseling to find out why you have this fear that is interfering with your life.

Get thee to a therapist!
