The Navy has it's own equally talented bunch of muzishuns. There's different groupings, they have Brass bands for military parade type functions, rock bands for high school recruiting, jazzz bands for officers cocktail parties, etc. That is ALL they do, they don't go to sea ever. They are an enlisted classification called MU, short for Musician. You gotta have a pretty serious background in music to even get an audition with them. BTW, for the record, the Marines are part of the Navy. (I love reminding people of that lol)

Maybe not in US but certainly in UK. And for military buglers to make a show, the italian Bersaglieri are certainly at the top (the show that they are giving while actually running and making music is fantastic).
Italians and running, oh I understand now why they are good in it. ;-)

as far as occupation...not a chance. but many members of the military are putting out they're own music (in all genres), and some of it is really good.
