I think the appropriate time for having a baby, and getting married, has less to do with age and more to do with where the persons involved are in their lives. If the people are at a place where they can financially afford a baby, or handle being married.
I am 22 and have been with my boyfriend since I was 15. I know I will marry him some day and have kids. I know I could accept the responsibility right now, however, I am still in school. I would like to wait until I have my degree and begin my career. This way, I know I have done every thing in my power to ensure my future family is well off.

I don't think that age honestly has anything to do with it. I think its when someone is able to care for a child, that's when. There are 18 years olds, or 38 years olds that can't necessarily take care of themselves, so I don't think its right for them to have a kid. As long as they are able to support a child, love it, care for it and want it, then the could

I am 23 and have two girls and a boy on the way. I do not have to work, and get to stay home all the time. It just depends on the options you have. My husband works all the time, and loves me to stay home and be a mom. I think if you can afford to have baby's at whatever age then great. But if you cannot afford it and you both have to work then it might not be a great time. But there are alot of moms who can multitask. Good for them. They are super moms.

you're old enough to have a baby when you're living on your own and supporting yourself . . and you're able to handle the responsibility of providing for another life . . . in my opinion, a woman should be at least 18 . . but even that is young . . I think people should enjoy their teenage years and get all of the partying out of their system . . so that way, when they decide to have children, they won't feel like they're "missing out" on another part of life . . .

i seriously hate this type of question...
it shouldnt concern ANYBODY else how old you were when you had YOUR baby..their not raising it so it should be nobody's business but yours.....as long as you are mature, have the means to take care of it, and the love in your heart to raise another human being to the best of your abilities ..nothing else should matter..
alll that talk about how everyone should achieve the american dream before they have children is bull too me.....you waste your whole life working for materialistic things but when you die none of that stuff will go with you....the most important thing is who are you leaving behind....who will continue your legacy and your family name.?...trust me that BMW or Mercedes and million dollar home wont be doing it......

Ideally it should be someone 18 or over, who is mature enough, responsible enough, married or in a commited relationship and who is financially secure.

ideally in your mid twenties and married too many teenage girls are getting pregnant by one night stand type relationships which lead the young girl basically into a life of uneducation and poverty and no father figure around to help rear the kid

As long as they can take care of their child financially, physically and emotionally, age does not matter.
