mexico is broken. It now has parallel governments...what will that ultimately lead to? I would imagine, civil war as each side squares off.

What is your opinion?

I am Mexican, I disagree with people going to the States illegally (although I disapprove racism). They see the US as a way to escape, but they can't choose between the two countries -that is what I hate!!!- it isn't fair neither for Mexicans here nor for Americans.
And I don't see why there would have to be a civil war there. Lopez Obrador's alleged government is cr**, his own voters are accepting Calderon's victory and soon he will be remembered as a clown who tried to be President. The thing is that President Fox doesn't want to use the Army to stop L. Obrador, but I think that he would use it if he had to.

I order to answer your question I had to see where you were coming from. No there will be no civil war in Mexico, you want to know why? Cause the U.S. will not let it go that far. If you take a trip down to the central states of Mexico you will see just how much monetary interest the U.S. has in Mexico. GM and the U.S. automotive industry will suffer the most. If you take a trip down there you will see hill after hill covered in GM, Ford, and other vehicles that are coming fresh out of the factory. But you don't have to go that far. Just cross the border and you will see that there is a Sony and Toshiba assembly plants in T.J., and countless other textile factories across Juarez. Also Japanese and Chinese companies have a big stake in Mexico too. They are going to be opening up a multi-billion dollar port in Baja, and that is attracting a lot of foreign investors (including me).
So bottom line is this, before you begin talking about Mexico... think about how much the U.S. is benefitting from Mexico. If you want to talk about the negative effect of illegal immigration, talk to the farmers whose crops are rotting on the field because they are short in labor, and no U.S. citizen is willing to take them. I am sure you are going to get a lot of immigrant/Mexico bashing answers on here, but hey that is what we do. When the economy is bad we always look for the scapegoat.

There and here is clearly an overlap. It started with their crap education and text books ETC ETC ETC and now also exists here in the minds and behavior of the illegals. So, if there is war there, there will be war here. Whoever is there will revolt. Whoever is here will revolt. The revolts will merge and many will suffer. Will California be the right color state to get military aid, or will it all go to Iraq? We will see. Those who CANT fight should flee...now.

I don't think civil war in Mexico will happen. Intense violence and civil unrest, yes. Mexico will eventually quash this with an iron fist, they don't exactly like their own people, unless they are rich.
In fact, they only seem to like their citizens when they come here to the U.S. In any event, yes, civil unrest will lead to more illegals. And more legals as well, they will be able to come on refugee status, much like they did in 1916-1917.

i think that just like any problems that face everyday life and improving their country in any way, they will just give up and leave. it seems that they don't really love their country, much less be willing to fight over it.
