I started dating this girl a little while ago and I totally want her as a friend. I know that sounds strange but she is really funny and totally fun to hang around. I took her bowling and she even had fun there, no offense but some of you girls are a drag on fun dates. The problem is that she just got out of a serious relationship and is afraid that all i want is love or a girlfriend... but that ain't my style... in fact i really just want to chill but every time i try to get her to hang out she is worried that i'm a try and hit on her. What can i do nice for her to show her that i think of her as more of a friend.

Buy her a card and inside write to her: I give you my word that I am looking to have a friendship with you, as I enjoy your company. I am not seeking a romantic relationship with you, nor will I hit on you ...this is your guarantee.

Tell her she can draw that card on you anytime she thinks you've crossed the line..lol.

But...wanna know what I REALLY think?

I think she likes you MORE than just for a friend...she likes YOU romantically...and it's her own self she is worried about crossing the line as far as feelings go into something more romantic..and she knows better than to do that right now. I'd lay my life on that one..lol

and........... do the card thing anyway ...and just make like I didn't fill you in on that fact....and be her friend.
If she persists on backing away because she is worried about you...you remember what I told you - it's really SHE is worried about her feelings running away with her concerning you. She doesn't trust her own feelings right now (and rightfully so) It's too soon for her ...time will work this all out...just give her time.

She probably is worried about the impression she will make on her boyfriend by hanging around you too much. No matter how pure your intentions are, it still comes off as inappropriate that she is hanging around an ex-boyfriend. My suggestion is get to know her boyfriend and try to hang out with him to gain his trust. Maybe bring another girl friend you have along on dates and double date with them. Just understand that she doesn't want to jeopardize her relationship and that by dating, the relationship is now a little awkward now that you both have broken up.

Well thats a tough one but the easiest option is to tell her face to face that she is such a great friend and that you hope nothing will ever change that as you value her as a mate.

Or you can be blunt and just say something really silly like, im glad your a mate cos its very difficult for me to have female friends without them presuming that I have any hidden agendas.

You can be cheeky and ask her if she has any single friends. lol

I hope my silly advice has helped in any way.

Give her a card, girls love cards. Just a friendship card, not a romantic one and let her know you like hanging out and you enjoy your time with her. Take her for a drink at a coffee shop and just chat, don't try to take her on dates that seem more intimate, keep it casual. And be patient!

If she just got out of a relationship then that is how she is going to think. Just tell her that you would like to be in a relationship when she is ready for one also.

you should give her time and space..don't push it, she has to come around herself... if you be around but give her the space she wants she will understand that you care more for her and you can also help her with everything you can so she finds you really caring

Just don't go overboard. Go slow with her and if it comes to that explain yourself. She will probably appreciate it
