Don't eat fruit after other foods (ie for pudding), always eat fruit first, or on it's own in between meals. this is because fruit is very easily digested and goes through your system very fast, so if you eat it after a meal, it gets trapped behind the other food and starts to ferment, thus producing gas. you could be low on digestive enzymes, so eat lots of food that contains these, eg alfalfa and other sprouted seeds, raw veg, salads, etc. don't drink with your meals as this dilutes the digestive enzymes, have a drink of water half an hour before your food. you could buy a digestive enzyme in tablet form to help, you can get one called 'Enzyme Digest' made by Quest, you can get it from health food shops and it's ok for veggies. and one more thing, don't eat if you're stressed - this is bad for your digestion. and cut down on wheat and junk food snacking.

The answer here would lie in the root cause for the bloating. If it was somethin that you ate, think of when the bloating began and either stay away from that food item or eat it in moderation. If your woman and its caused by your cycle - Take Midol it helps with Bloating. But if its strictly due to food take an All-purpose antacid (like Like Malox Plus) that list bloating as a symptom that it gets rid of.

Beano or GasX are always options... Other things to think about are not drinking wit straws (they make you gulp, and swallow air), being careful not to swallow air when you eat, and being avoiding mixing foods that cause the most gas, like eating broccoli and beans at different meals. As for water retention bloating, try to drink more water and limit your salt or sodium intake. Hope that works for ya! Good luck!

Seriously. I saw the other answers, some were ridiculous. But try the Beano. There is also a remedy on the shelf at Wal-Mart in the pharmacy, the same place you find Beano, Charco-Caps. I'm serious, it works.

If you're not a vegan, are you using a lot of milk products? This can cause a bloated feeling.
Is your salt intake high?
Are you eating a lot of gluten-containing products? This could also cause a bloated feeling.

Try peppermint oil capsules, I get this sometimes myself (no I am not vegitarian) but it doesn't really matter as I don't eat much meat anyways. Also some of the other answers are really stupid in my opinion!
