They are vandalia onions and yes they are actually red on the outside. They are sweeter and less pungent than other onions.

Short answer - no.

The person who posted a website about red's vidalia didn't mentioned they're called "Red's" because they're sold by a guy named "Red." The seeds may be red depending on how they were handled.

But vidalia onions, by definition are a specific hybrid of yellow-white onion grown in and around Vidalia, GA.
