Last week, my friend met with an accident. He fell from 3rd floor of the building. Since then he has been in unconscious state. He has had several fractures to his ribs and head injury. There has been no improvement in his condition.

I think only god can help him.

Can anyone pray for my friend. His name is Praveen.

Please help...

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. Yes I did pray for him. Ignore what J.P. said. Praveen is blessed to have a friend like you. I have a friend whose mother had to undergo surgery for kidney stones. He asked his friends to pray for his mom. The next time I emailed him he said that the doctor saw no trace of kidney stones and it was a miracle. Maybe you can also get someone who does Reiki to help. Reiki is the art of sending healing power through ones hands to another person. Listen Vinnu, my dad has a book “Health in Your Hands” by Dr. Davendra Vora. The book deals with reflexology or acupressure, which is an ancient Indian form of healing. All of our organs and body parts are connected to different spots in the palm of the hand and the sole of the feet. Maybe you can get someone who knows this art to help Praveen. If you don’t know anyone, you or someone in his family can massage his palms and the soles of his feet. It will help his body to heal faster. Just don’t massage one point for more than two minutes because it is not good for the liver. Even if he is unconscious, I think it will help if people talk to him. Tell him that he is strong and that everyone he loves is waiting for him to get up. Tell him that he will get better soon. This will help him to be more body conscious. Vinnu, I will continue to pray for Praveen but please remember that when you pray to have faith. Faith means that when you ask God for something, you must have no doubt that he will give you what you ask for. Let go and let God. With God all things are possible.

"The prayers of a righteous man availeth much" Yes you are right about only God can help him and I will say a prayer for him. This is something that makes the Catholic faith so strong though because we know the value of suffering if God does not decide to heal us. We offer our suffering up as the body of Christ for the salvation of others including your friend.

So you think god can help him, but stood idly by while he fell? Is that really how you view god? He won't step in until a certain number of strangers asks him to step in?

If you honestly feel that only god can help him, would you pull him out of the hospital right this minute if it were up to you? Do you reject modern medicine?

The only scientific study of prayer that found a statistically significant effect found a NEGATIVE statistically significant effect -- those being prayed for were WORSE off than the unprayed for group.

I thought you said this guy was a friend? So why the request for prayers? Some friend you are...
