I have the oatmeal, but I threw the box out by mistake. The side panel has a chart that says how many cups of water and oatmeal to use (plus a dash of salt), but I'm dead without that chart.

How much water should I use with one, two, and three cups of oatmeal? (I know I boil it for five minutes or a little longer.)

How Much Water For Oatmeal

Oatmeal can be used in many different recipes other than actual oatmeal for breakfast. I have seen recipes that require quick oats for many things including pancakes, breads, cookies, muffins, fruit crisps, meatloaf, and meatballs. The microwave, stove top, and oven can be used to prepare oatmeal. Baked oatmeal is one of my favorite breakfasts and the instant kind isn't bad either. There are ingredients you can add to oatmeal in the mornings for more flavor, otherwise it's a rather bland start to the day. Consider adding things such as chocolate chips, brown sugar, cinnamon, peanut butter, melted butter, mixed nuts, fresh fruit, shredded coconut, almond or coconut milk, canned pumpkin, and pie filing.

This answer is from a personal love for Oatmeal - not from the side panel:

Use 2 parts water to 1 part oatmeal. Combine the oatmeal with cold water in your saucepan, and bring to a boil, stirring frequently (lumps are NOT good).

Lower heat to low, and continue to stir occasionally until almost the desired consistency (it will thicken, even as you pour into your bowl).

It's basically 1 part oatmeal to 2 parts water, salt to taste. Cook for about 1 1/2 minutes in the microwave, then add sugar and milk or cream to your likeing.

Measure the amount of water you want, half pint would be enough for two people, salt is not necessary (or to taste).
Sprinkle the oatmeal into the water once it is boiling and keep stirring or it will go lumpy to the consistency you want.
This can then be placed into bowls and sweetened with sugar, honey or with a sprinkling of salt.
Porridge was the staple diet of many a highlander where it was made thick enough to slice and carried in the sporran when they were out tending their sheep.
Enjoy.

You use two to three times as much water as oatmeal, depending on whether your like your mush firm or more gruel-ish.
I usually throw a handful of raisins in the boiling water before adding the oatmeal. Makes breakfast taste better -- and the raisins are full of iron.

when i cool oatmeal i all ways add at least two cups of water, but if you need to add more water or oatmeal, it depends on the texture of it, thick or not.
