My kids learned the poem "Alligator Pie" in school last week and someone told me they have heard of an actual pie w/ the same name.

Ingredients:
1 unbaked Graham Cracker pie crust
8 ounces Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
8 ounces Sour Cream
8 ounces cool whip
2 drops of green food coloring


Directions:

Mix Philadelphia Cream Cheese and sour cream well. add 2 drops of green food coloring. Fold in Cool Whip. Pour into pie crust. Refrigerate for 2 hrs. or overnight. Extra Cool Whip can be added on top and cherries added on top.

This recipe for Alligator Pie serves/makes 8

Bake a pie shell.
Catch an alligator.
Try to stuff it in the pie shell.
Run like h**l when that doesn't work and the alligator starts to chase you.

same recipe as chicken pot pie, just substitute alligator.
a delicacy in souther new orleans.
little gator with some red sauce and a litttle tail to finish off
