I'm having my wedding in Jamaica-I'd like it to be on the beach, but I still want it to be formal.I'ts in August, so it will be pretty hot. Couple of questions-
1. What should I have the guys wear? I want them to be comfortable, but I'd ultimately like them to be tuxes.
2. I'm thinking about going formal, but not having anyone wear shoes. What do you think?

I dont really care too much if the guests dress formally....I just went the bridal party to be formal. I understand guests will be on the beach and if they wear a nice dress or dress pants and a dress shirt that is fine with me.
Also, I HATE light flowy dresses for weddings (no offense to anyone). My dress will be formal no matter where I have the wedding. I'm just worried about the guys.

The men should match the formality of your dress - the dress should match the formality of the location. I'd scale down the level of formality (no train, long veil, etc) and then the men can wear linen (yes, lightweight and comfortable) suits.

I think you can do your wedding in anyway that would make you happy. I can understand your hesitation about the bridesmaid dresses---I went back and forth on mine about 1000 times. The only suggestion I might make is that you make it a formal reception, and focus your formality on the decorations, the food, the champagne, the flowers, etc. rather than trying to make your attire so formal. Jamaica in August is going to be so VERY hot that to have on a heavy dress or tuxes would just be very uncomfortable. If you and the bridal party is uncomfortable, you're not going to enjoy yourself as much as you should. You should also consider that it's going to be very hard to convince guests to be very formal in extremely hot weather on a beach. Perhaps you might consider dressing more comfortably for the ceremony and then having your bridal party and yourself change into your formal attire for the reception where it will probably be air conditioned?

I really like the bridemaid dress & the first two of the ones you like.
But I hate to tell you but those are NOT beach wedding dresses. Most beach weddings are for the relaxed atmosphere. Tho' you can have a more formal beach weddding, those are waaaaay to heavy. And for the guys to wear tuxes, would be asking way too much of them also. Rather than have a beach wedding, for the attire you've chosen, look for a beachside venue.

1. I think whatever they wear (tuxes) the color should match their couple partner to walk downt he aisle.
2. It's on the beach so i think it will be cute for not anyone to wear shoes, I mean who would wear dress shoes in the sand?
And for the dresses I LOOOOOVVVVVE the first one, I was looking at the same one or really similar one at a bridal show, it's gorgeous you would look really nice in that, i love the little ripples or clipped parts on the bottom of the dress to make it look ruffly. But your wedding sounds really nice, and as for the maid of honor and flower girl dresses i don't like too much...

If your guys wear tuxes, they will be dying from the heat and humidity. They will feel miserable, look miserable, and it will show in their behavior. And be forever captured in pictures. I don't think it's a good idea to have a formal beach wedding. It's one or the other. And your guests will most likely come dressed very casually, which will look odd. I think you've got to choose whether you want a formal wedding or a tropical wedding.

I have gone to many weddign at the beach they have all been formal. You can haev your bridesmaids were a formal tube top dress up to the knees and the guys can either wear white suits or a guayabera ype look. you can have a little shoe valet in the front so that your guest can take there shoes off before reaching the sand with little brushes so they can clean there feet before putting there shoes back on.

Are you kidding with this?? Why would you make everyone uncomfortable in tuxes on the beach then why bother it's supposed to be a relaxed setting. Those dresses are pretty but what too overboard for a beach. I suggest you change locations for all the formal stuff
don't make them suffer in the heat with a tux he should be comfortable

Jamaica= hot. Therefore NONE of those dresses would be good for a ceremony on the beach! You need a short, light weight dress. All the dresses you listed above will be VERY HEAVY and too long! You need to shop around and maybe look online for someone who makes short lightweight summer gowns. And only wear flip flops on the beach (sand maybe hot so you need to have something on your feet).

I've seen pictures of beach weddings where the groom and groomsmen wore khaki pants and white button up shirts that were un-tucked (squared at the bottom, the kind that isnt supposed to tuck in) and it looked nice. It would not clasify black tie formal, but the bride and bridesmaids still looked very classic and elegant. the decorations were elegant so I dont it took way from the class of the ceremony because they were not in tuxes.

Okay, I say this is YOUR day!!! Everyone (including you) should wear whatever. This is TOTALLY your day!!! I do think that flip flops are a good thing...I live on the beach in FL...I think the sand prob will be hot. Good luck to you!!
