Have they done blood tests to determine what the defecinecy in your body is? If not I would highly recommend that. Also, if you haven't seen a psychiatrist I would suggest seeing one. They are much better quilified to pinpoint the exsact medicine that will work for YOUR depression than an internalist. I'm speaking from expereince here.

Vicodin is a pain medication, you should not be taking that for depression. You would truly be lucky to have a doctor prescribe that for long term depression. You need to change docs if he is prescibing that for depression. You truly need to see a professional psychiatrist who can prescribe the correct meds. Some times it takes many different meds to see a change and you have to be on them for a certain length of time to see if they even truly work. You cant just take them for a week and say they don't work. It takes longer for them to take effect. Your doc will work with you on them if you allow him too. I am on depression meds myself and Ive taken many at different times, it just takes time. Take my advice and don't use the Vicodin for depression and any doctor that is prescribing that for it is a quack.

You get depressed only because u want to get depressed. Therapists will only deepen ur thoughts and depression not help u. FInd something else to think about, find a hobby. listen to happy music, exercise and i assure u u will be happy. The best u can do is pray to God for comfort, for he will. t

I know a lot of people will argue with me on this one but I think depression is all a state of mind and medication is not needed. Sometimes you have to accept that there are things you cannot change and move on. The best medicine for depression is to go out with some of your best friends and have fun!!! Stop dwelling on whatever is bothering you and start hanging aroud with posative people.

Fro one thing vicoden is a nacotic medication that is for pain, headaches ect it is not for dedpression....Try asking your Dr. to start you out on 30 mgs of cymbalta and work you rway uo from there...I do believe this is the lowest dosage for this med....The reason for cymbalta not only does it help your depression but it helps the bodyaches and headaches also that way you do not have to be dependant on vicoden....Trust me cymbalta will work for you it did for me and I have tried every kind of depression meds that are out there.....Plus that some of the patients that I have take this med for their depression and manic deppresion and bipolar and it works great....
PLEASE TRY THIS MED BEFORE YOU GET HOOKED ON A NARCOTIC THAT WILL EVENTUALLY RUIN YOUR LIFE AND THE ONLY WAY THAT YOU DR. IS GOING TO PRESCRIBE VICODEN LONG TERM IS IF YOU HAVE SOME KIND OF ON GOING PAIN......

Why are you on vics for depression? You said it works for you...that's because you are high. Go see a doctor about that. Also if you can find a good therapist you can overcome your depression without meds. I strongly suggest you look into it.
