They thought he was lying with his claims and because they expected their messiah to come back in fine robes with jewels and such but Jesus was the opposite he came in rags and was a carpenters son not their idea of a Savior nor King. It was also prophecied that he would have to die that he wouldn't be accepted by his own people but rejected and killed.

The leadership of a couple of sects of the Jews wanted to get rid of him because they knew their cushy positions were in jepordy if The Nation of Isarael did accept Him for who He is. If Jesus had been accepted as The King of the Jews... they would not have had a job... they had enough influence with enough people to turn out a convincing mob yelling, ignorantly, for Jesus' death.

The Bible gives you the answer. Read it and find out why Jesus Christ was crucified. Much better that you learn for yourself, rather than have everyone else hand things to you.

Most people in the Bible were pagans and did the things the Lord commanded them not to do. Even after the commandments and the fall of Saul, and all the bad things that happened, they still refused to believe Him. And they thought He was crazy when He claimed to be the Son of God.

He was God in the flesh. (the Greatest Guy who ever walked the planet).

It was the plan of salvation from the time that Satan deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden.

I recommend reading and studying the bible. Ask questions, check answers against the truth a.k.a. the Word of God.

Interestingly enough, that was part of the Messiah prophecy. One way that we would be able to know who the Messiah was is because he would be hated by His own people. If people didn't hate Jesus, then that would've been an unfulfilled prophecy, and then we would know that Jesus wasn't really the Messiah. But he was hated... so that prophecy was fulfilled.

Because Satan blinded the leaders and they in turn blinded the people in general. Satan worked very hard stirring up resentment and hatred in the leaders, and in the end Satan was shown for what he really is; a liar and a murder, and the whole of creation has seen him for who and what he is, and will have nothing more to do with him. He murdered the Son of God because he hates everything that has to do with God.

John 5:18 For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

They didn't understand that He is the Lord of the Sabbath and He is God.

The Pharisees saw him as a threat to their rule. People are murdered because they are seen as threats to people getting what they want or maintaining what they have. Jesus exposed the Pharisees for what they were---hypocrites.
