Any way I can get a "second chance" w/ my iTunes songs? I lost them when I updated to version 7. Help please!!

I know that when you restore your iPod, you lose most of your songs forever if you don't have back-up for them. Thing is, I didn't know this when I updated to iTunes, version 7!!!!!!!!!!!! I have some songs still there, because they were on one of my CDs and all, but the others are pretty much GONE!!!!!!! Is there any EASY way to redeem them? PLease and thank you!

Im sorry but there is no chance at all the exact samething happened to me i had more then 1200 songs but when i updated the version i lost them all, i feel for you.
