The soldiers who are dying in Iraq have volunteered to be go to war and defend this country. We were attacked by some of the very same terrorists that are attacking in Iraq now. If we do not win this war then we will soon lose America because the terrorist want nothing more than to destroy us. They made that very clear when they attacked us on 9/11 and they will attack again if we don't do this.
Most of the soldiers over there are deeply offended by Americas comments. If you polled them they would tell you that morale is low because of comments like this. And they would tell you it will be however many soldiers it takes to win this war in Iraq.
Oh and for you Jimbo wiz.... The muslim extremist hated us way before this! Their goal is to have a third Jihad and destroy America and all other countries who will not convert to their way of thinking. This thought was way before we went to Kosovo, Kuwait or Iraq.

While your at it look up how many people died during 911, USS Cole, Bombing of U.S. Embassy in Beirut April 18 1983, TWA Hijacking June 14 1985 were 1 US Navy hostage was murdered, World Trade Center Bombing February 26 1993, Attempted Assassination of President Bush by Iraqi Agents April 14 1993, Khobar Towers Bombing June 25 1996. With a little research I could go on and on! If you want to know how many people have died fighting this was on terror then make it more personal and look it up your self. It is personal for me because I fight for this country and see friends that have given their lives because of this World War on Terror.
And by the way you are far from the Coolest Dude Ever. Be original this question has been asked several times on this forum.

Too Many, HOWEVER, Would you rather have the war here? That's what would happen if they weren't fighting it there. It would be brought here, and then many more soldiers PLUS civilians would be killed because everyone here is complaining about the war in Iraq. Whether it's Iraq, Vietnam, Europe or where ever, soldiers will die. We are proud of our country and proud to be Americans and will do whatever it takes to protect the freedom we have. I get so sick of this question and the answers that it generates from the wimps who call themselves American. They don't understand war, and they don't know our nation's history. This is because history has been replaced in school by "social studies." It has dumbed-down our students, and neutered the men.
This conflict has one of the lowest rates of combat deaths in US history. The only one that had less was the first Gulf War! Let's get a grip people! In context, we are doing exceptionally well.
Take a look at the statistics in the link provided. It comes from LSU, which is hardly a bastion of conservative thought.

I lost my Brother-in-law. My Sister (it was her husband) was also stationed there and she will never be the same again and my Dad was wounded...... BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN PROUDER OF THEM. And SJ or who ever you are, you are a jerk. Yes they volunteered and that is their choice so brining politics into this as your answer is a cop out. Be in MY shoes for one day and see how upset you get and pathetic answers like yours. You are afraid to do anything yourself so you spew your polical crap to make you look good. people say 2700 but i think more..
if 5 soldiers died the government will say only 1 solider is dead..
ever say 5 to 10 soldiers die..

Around 2700+ killed currently and somewhere around 20,000 wounded, I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrong on any of those stats.
