There is a lot of fear here that they may succumb and go ahead and believe. It isn't scary on this side.

I don't know why born again christians seem to have the most critics in YOUR opinion... in MY opinion, they have the most critics because the willful ignorance and delusional bilgewater that they spew is most deserving of criticism... ridicule, too, now that I think of it.

Well Jesus said that the world would hate us because of Him.
Also, there are a lot of people out there who claim to be Christians that give real Christians a bad name.

Criticism, the modern day persecution, is something dear to Christians hearts. If they are criticized then they are Godly. It is all in your own perception.

Because they spend a lot of time being critical of others, especially anyone who calls themselves Christian that they don't deem to be.

one reason is that they try to define the undefinable to those who have no desire to hear... Too many of them try to stuff a ton of info into a 1# presentation and expect the lost soul they are trying to reach to grasp every thing and"get saved right now"... they indeed do come accross as pushy...and many of them are...most unintentionaly...but this turns off more than it turns on...
There are other issues regarding the influence of the forces of evil...but this discusion really can turn off the listener

If we were of the world the world would love it's own, but we are not of the world just in the world and they hated Jesus so they hate us also.
Light came into the world and men love darkness more than light because their deeds are evil.

I don't know about your opinion, but I think that is is because they proclaim the truth boldly (that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead) and Satan doesn't like it. So he tries to discourage them and put people against them so that they won't repent.
