Only big difference is that DirecTv is at 38 degrees and Dish Network is at about 27 degrees. If there are trees or other obstructions that are nearby this can make the difference in getting a signal.
Dishes are set with azimuth, elevation and tilt and those degrees can make the decision.
Beyond that it depends if you are a NFL fan, big into international programming, etc. Then it can go back and forth.

Price wise they are about the same, I had Dish for many years then switched to Direct. I think Direct is better because when a cloud comes over I don't lose my satellite.

DIRECTV over DISH Network, hands down. I have been a DIRECTV subscriber since 2001, and as a die-hard sports fan, without DIRECTV I would not have been able to watch the Seahawks play every Sunday during NFL season.
