what did you think about it do you agree with what it portrayed about religious extremists, after all you all give opinions on religion so you must have been educated in the matter and read other books about it other than the bible.

oh and yes i am aware that the book is fictional but the message it gives is what interests me.

the book is "fictional", though it is based upon the very real court case, and the portrayal of fundamentalists is based upon the actual acts and speeches made by William Jennings Bryant during the trial.

One of my favorite books of all time and an excellent illustration of the dangers of narrow thinking. Made into a fab movie starring Spencer Tracey, Frederic March and Gene Kelly.
