How would I solve this. Tyler ran a 3k (3 kilometers) in 11.23 mintues. If he can keep running at the same rate, how long would it take him to run 10 miles.

You'd convert the 3k into miles and then multiply it with the 11.23 minutes.

you need to know that 1K = 0.62 miles so 3K = 1.86 miles

if he takes 11.23 minutes to run the 3K, it would be approximately 3.74 minutes per 1K

1K = 0.62 miles and 6.2K = 10 miles

10 miles is approximately 2.1 times the 3K and it'd take about 23.28 minutes for the 10 miles

10mile = 10 *1.60934 · 10^3 m
3km = 3000m
11.23 min = 11.23*60 sec
now compute speed = distance1/time1
since speed is same therefore time taken 2= distance2/speed

It is a proportion. First, change miles to KM or vice versa.
1 mile is about ~1.609344 km
10 miles X 1.609344 = 16.09 km

3km = 16.09 miles
11.23 min x minutes


Cross multiply

3x = 11.23(16.09)
3x = 180.6907

divide both sides by 3
x = 60.23 minutes

10 miles = 16.09 kilometers
3 into 16.09 = 5.37
11.23x 5 =56.15 = A
11.23 \ .37 = B.....forget how to do this part . sorry
then add A + B together to get your answer

and 10 kilometers is 6.21 miles just so you dont get it messed up

convert kilometers to miles and use the same conversion to find out how long it takes him to run one mile. the rest is easy.
