The size of the particle is more important than the shape of the particle for security. Just avoid the cheap shredders as they just don't last.

Just pick the shredder that cuts up the paper in as many pieces as possible. That way someone going thru your trash can't put it back together. It's also handy to have a shredder that can tackle cd's & credit cards.

Not much difference. The big difference is between these and strip cut shredders; the latter are much less secure.

The diamond cut is far more secure. But how many of us have documents that are that secret or secure??
