a macro is a way of getting code written for any procedure you do. so you click on macros start new one. then you do what ever it is you want, like insert a table. then you hit stop on the macro toolbar. this macro is saved so you can run it whenever you want. so instead of having to insert a table everytime, you can just run the macro.

A macro is a saved set of commands...for example, you can set a macro to change the text to bold, underline and also to a different font just by running the macro instead of choosing each option individually. Go to Tools-->Macro-->Record New Macro to make a new macro.

Macros are use to automate things ... in word ...
Like replacing any word by a full sentence..on press of a hot key..
or updating a field automatically ....when some other field is edited....
We need to record ..those events and save em..which r called as macros

A macro is like a miniature program. It strings together a list of commands and executes them all when you press the shortcut keys which you assign.

macro's are a blast, you can use them in chat rooms to do room pictures and stuff. shortkeys is one program, and it's free, i use key text, it's my fave, comes with a free trial. both offer real user friendly instructions on how to use. i'm a td in yahoo cames, i use my macro creator to post pairings and rules etc. example :
o^*"*^oo^*"*^oo^*"*^o~GENERAL RULES~o^*"*^oo^*"*^oo^*"*^o
NEVER BOOT A NON-MEMBER, POLITELY ASK THEM TO LEAVE
NO MULTI-TASKING, FAST PLAY EXPECTED
YOU CAN BE DQ'D FOR SLOW PLAY
1 BOOT AND TOTAL OF 5 MINUTE MIA
FIRST NAME INVITES
WINNER PLEASE REPORT IN LOBBY LIKE THIS
<<<<<<<<<<
o^*"*^oo^*"*^oo^*"*^oo^*"*^oo^*"*^oo^*"*^oo^*"*^oo^*"*^oo^*"*^o
that appears all at once in a chat room
