Empathy. I think many other desirable qualities are naturally held by people who can identify with other human beings. The capacity to relate to the suffering of others makes us human.

I hold a positive attitude in highest regard, because so very little can be accomplished without it. People who are positive are pleasant to be around, have good ideas for overcoming obstacles and tend to see the good traits in others.

I think if I were to elevate two characteristics above all others as ones that I would look for in human beings that I admire they would be candor and selflessness.
My rationale for emphasizing these two personality traits above all others is quite simple. All forms of change for the better come as the direct result of honesty with oneself, and with sincerity with other people and the world around you. Hence, candor is an essential element in all that is good in this world.
Selflessness allows for the dissemination of all that it is good. Its one thing to improve oneself, its quite another to impart that goodness to another person. One can accumulate wealth, but the greatest use of that wealth would be to utilize to where it could help other people.
If more effort were taken to foster these two traits in our young ones, the world would have a much brighter outlook than it currently does.

INTEGRITY. If a person doesn't have that, then might as well hang it for me. I know as humans we make mistakes, but being honest about them an owning up to them makes it even better to deal with that individual. If they possess this trait, then you should be able to trust this type of person.

Integrity. The ability to stand up for one's own beliefs, while simultaneously being aware of other people's feelings and viewpoints. Seriously lacking in the current climate.

All are equal, we are not measure by our deeds. We come here nothing, and leave this world nothing.. more important is to know, why you are here, to do the will of God, and know where you will be going when you die.. impact people life, experience the love from God, and love the people around you. Is not matter how long you live your life, is how you have live your life is more important..

I look for honesty and compassion.
Honesty builds trust in someone. If you can't trust someone, it's difficult to get to know them. It's hard to give the time of day(care) to someone, if you can't get a straight answer. Getting a straight answer in a couthful way is the most appealing.
OK now...good luck understanding that explanation....:)
