If you do not have a firearms certificate then they can take them and report you to the court
If you do have a certificate they can still take them if they believe that you are a potential danger to others...then they will go to the Sherrif and get him to approve their actions. They do not need a warrant if they believe the threat is immediate. You could also have you certificate revoked if they can prove you are no longer a "fit and proper person" to hold firearms

Good question. If they know you have illegal firearms (ie you dont own a license) then I imaging under some kind of 'extra' law like anti-terrorist, or national security, they are allowed to do so without a warrant.

Yes they can depending on your circumstances or if they have a really good reason for them to take your firearms, hope you fire blanks

If you have a legal Licence to hold the firearm and haven't been threatening anyone or used it illegally, then I dont think they have.
