I want to prove that a pond can work and be one by having the same ecosystem through an 8" diameter 36" long pipe??

It is not possible to "Prove" that 2 things are the same. The approach to use is to establish a study to attempt to show that they are different and then set a probability level of detecting a difference. If you cannot detect the difference at the level your comparison was set to detect, you can then accept that the probability that they are different is less than that probability level and accept that they are the same. The actual statistical design of such a study is too complex to describe here.

First an 8 foot diameter pipe 3 feet long is an odd way to connect two ponds, assuming 36 feet long, then.

inventory the animal and plant life on both sides of the pipe. Does water flow through the pipe? Can surface animals flow through the pipe (ie. not completely sumerged) ?, etc.
