The Bible is the only work DIRECTLY inspired by God. If God wanted us to know more than what is already in the Bible He would have inspired that information to be written down. He wants us to know what is already there and learn from it, apply it to our lives and live a good Christian life.

If you do consider the writings included in the bible to be inspired by god, then yes, many more existed, however, in all likely hood, all if not most have been destroyed. At the council of Nicea, religious leaders met to create a holy book, and they chose certain literature to include, and others to cast away. Since any of those writings that were not included could have logically been included in the Bible were different people present at the council, all of them could have been inspired by god, yet not included in the bible.

The Old Testament was written down after hundreds of years of oral history. Did they leave anything out? Did they put anything in that they shouldn't have?
The New Testament was also written down much later than the events took place. The books were selected by politicians and intellectual religious scholars. Did they miss anything?
Although I believe in the Bible and know it is the Word of God, I also accept that perhaps a few things have been left out, or a few things added that weren't supposed to be. I have faith that God will give us what we need, when we need it so I am not so concerned. But I do keep an open mind and rely on the Holy Ghost to guide me in the pursuit of truth.

The Bible is enough.

There is a lot of books that are inspired by the Bible. You can see how much life the Bible grants to people when you let Holy Spirit in your heart.

No, never. The Bible is the ONLY written work inspired by God. Mormons and Muslims will tell you different, but it is not true.

I believe this to be true....just look at the CS Lewis books and many more...............have to think that these were inspired by God, because I believe that scripture opened up by the Holy Spirit to each individual as God wants the knowledge to be revealed, can result in great spiritual literature.

Yes of course--every beautiful love song. Every beautiful poem. Every wonderful work of Fiction. It's all inspired by God. It may not be his teaching words but his inspiration nonetheless. He is responsible for all beauty and goodness.

My opinion, Yes! Les Mis for example.

Perhaps I must regress... These are inspiring, but not to be confused with something to base your life on. I just read another comment about Joseph Smith, etc. I would hate to put my seal of approval on something like that.

Mans works should always be evaluted in light of the scriptures, not compared, side by side.... ;)

There have been no written works inspired by god at all. There have only been works inspired by people's conceptions of gods. In that regard, there are millions or possibly billions of such works.
