Be nice and buy the best gift that you can afford-the one you want to buy for him then pick up a less expensive gift-a little something-and don't forget the birthday cake!! Hope you both have a nice day!! Don't forget to let him know that you care!!

Treat him the way you want to be treated. You want recognition for both....like you took the time to consider both occassions. I know that you considered both occassions by getting him 2 gifts. But I find it to be very romantic, thoughtful and loving to get seperate gifts. I would go as far to get 2 seperate cards as well. I guarantee he would love that. Men deep down are like women. They want that extra attention. Makes them feel special even though they are hard on the outside. What would be cool is if you could somehow give him his gifts at 2 different times throughout the day. Like send one to work as his "birthday present" --card and all. Then later that night when you see him, give him a "valentines gift" with card. He will feel special all day. This is like the people who have a birthday close to Christmas. 2 seperate presents is always the way....especially for your sweety,

Why can't a man want to be romanced? Shouldn't romance be reciprocated? Isn't that what equality is all about? Is he requesting anything specific? I'd say shower him. Don't merge the gifts. Shower him with gifts instead. They can be material and romantic. For example, put a gift in each room. In the entertainment room, an iPod; in the dining room, candlelit dinner; in the bathroom, a bubble bath; etc.

For the first question, People in general love to get presents! It is nice to have a birthday on a Holiday but it sucks because it's like you get one present saying happy Holiday and happy birthday! It's even better if they get a separate gift for a separate occasion! I would do it like this, Give the bigger nicer gift for the birthday present and the small sweet one for a separate occasion or even if you just want to give him something just because you love him, that's good too!
THIS IS THE BEST ANSWER!

Depending on how long you two have been going out and how serious you two are is the question to ask yourself first...
If going out for some time (over a year) and serious, then yes, go for the two gift deal and make them separate of course.
If going out for a short time (under a year) and not sure of the future outcome...then one gift is fine or two smaller gifts.
Remember this about any man...they are all children at heart and want everthing like a child...do not spoil the child unless that are dervering.

Why shouldn't a man want to be treated equally to women? Why should they be the only ones shelling out for presents on valentine's and sweetest days?
If there is something you want to buy him that is more extravagant than you would usually do for one occasion, then buy that and roll it together. if not, get two gifts, or do two separate things. Do what you want, do what you think he would like. This is about him and not about you.

I would say since he's into the holidays like women are to divide his gifts up. The only way I wouldn't is if he wanted something real expensive and what you were going to spend on him for both was what you were going to spend. Ask him things that he really wants and then go from there. If all he wants is smaller things then divide it up and he'll be really happy.

Hmmm… Make his special day as special as you’d like a special day be made for you. Whether that is a huge gift or several gifts that express your love towards him. Regardless, what we give should never be why we give! When we are “gifting” to someone it’s suppose to be because we “want” to… and when we want to there is never an ulterior motive or expectation involved.
Happy Gifting!
