i don't believe it is necessary to "claim to" be part of any religion... if you have to shout it from the rooftops there's a problem!

ALL individuals are hypocritical to some degree or another. It's based upon personal bias and difficulty applying the same rules and concepts to yourself as to others. So you say one thing (that applies to others) and do some thing different (because apparently the rules don't apply to yourself). EVERYBODY does it to some degree or another. And if you don't think you do you're exactly one of the people I'm talking about.

So the answer is all religions. This is not an affront to religion in general. It applies to even those who claim there is no God. I am a Christian. But I know I'm not perfect.

Amazing question.
Had you ever thought that every single human being on the face of the planet has a bit of hypocrite in him/her? We all want to be perfect, but not one of us has ever achieved the gleaming goal, have we?
Did you know that you are also a hypocrite?
Had you thought that if you let a hypocrite come between you and God, that would mean that he is closer than you are?

Oh, by the way...I am a Christian. Yes, sometimes I am, shall we say, less than the ideal Christian I would like to be.
But, I'm working on it.
What are you working on?

Judge not less you be judged...
Pull the rafter out of your own eye before you pull the splinter out of another's....
He who is without sin cast the first stone....
An answer when mild turns away rage.....
Peter denied Jesus 3 times and yet he was forgiven and given the important responsibility of the keys to the kingdom afterward...
Yes, there are many hypocrites within each organization but I believe the fact that they are there shows there recognition for needing to be in a better spiritual position.
I have yet to hear anyone from any religion claim to be perfect except for those extremist who think that the entire world should be cleansed of anyone who isn't muslim.

As with all things, I think it is entirely possible for someone to be a hypocrite without belonging to any religion. ;)

I guess, for most, being a religious hypocrite is fundamentally the most distasteful.

All of use, are hypocrates, even Paul the Apostle admitted this, it is not about being perfect as Christ won perfection for us on the Cross, it is about finishing the race and the Fight and keeping the faith.
Christianity is not about just sitting back on our tails enjoying fire insurance or just explaining away and making excuses for our sins,,it is about acknowledging our sins and fighting against them, and continuing the fight until death.

Even a lack of religion is a religion even of itself
it takes faith to have no faith
