Do you also believe in Aliens, the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, etc??
Why or why not?
If you believe in one fantasy figure (God) then why shouldn't you believe in them all? Men wrote the Bible, and men have also been saying that strange things swim in Loch Ness (and other large lakes) for many hundreds or thousands of years.
Same for Bigfoot.
What's the difference?
Non religious are welcome to answer also.

andymcj66.....you make assumptions about me without having a clue. I can't prove God doesn't exist. Can YOU prove that he does? Thought not. You do realize, do you not, that the discussions on this board are mainly matters of OPINION?

You believe that there is no God (I've seen some of your previous posts) which means you have faith in your judement to believe that. To believe - I'm sure you know is to hold blind faith - but the reasons behind this blind faith is what you need to prove. How can you prove to me that there is no God?
Take the Torah, Bible and Quran tell me that you see no signs from God. Further more look around you, look at the beauty of this world (forget all the wars waged in the name of religion - they are political and just pollute peoples minds) look at life itself, how wonderful is it living, breathing, laughing - why live if only to die?
Blind faith is bind faith and there is no difference, even you have blind faith because you believe there is no God! Just because you cannot see something or its not tangible it doesn't mean that its not in existence.
In business providing a service is not tangible yet it still exists. You love your partner but can your partner truly know that this love exists? You cannot see gravity yet it exists.
If someone lies to you and your none the wiser then you may believe that person - is it because that person is tangible? If you see smoke then there must be fire - but how do you know, you can only see smoke?
These are the same guiding principles when it comes to God. Ever since the beginning of time man has been passing on a message received from God to his offspring, prophisies that have come true etc. All this information has been documented and recorded, some of it may be made up (mans greed for power) but on the whole the information is out there should you want to find it.

Those men you said that wrote the bible, died for what they believed. Will you die for bigfoot? or the loch ness monster?
Just tell the science to prove that Jesus didnt resucitate, they cant find the answer yet, and the sad thing is that is in the bible.
Look out whats the fantasy figure here?

Why would you have to believe in monster, Bigfoot, etc and not be able to believe in God. Those things have been proved to be false stories. It is true that men wrote the Bible but they were inspired of God. In fact the Bible says that you are a fool if you don't believe that there is a God. Psalms 19: 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Psalms 14: 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The Word of God has been preserved through all generations. Psalms 12: 6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Psalms 12: 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. The most important thing to believe is that the Lord Jesus came to earth as a man so He could died for your sins. Romans 5: 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

To make a definitive statement about God's non-existence you would have to have philosophical proofs to support your assertion. If you don't have any then you are no different from the believers so your own question applies to you. What fantasies do you believe in apart from the fantasy that you're a smart cookie?
In response to the comment the questioner made above you assume that I would want to prove the existence of God-I don't, I have no beliefs in a personal God. I am however aware of the fundamentals of philosophical debate and if you assert that God is a fantasy figure then you are making a definitive statement about his non-existence and in that case you are on a par with the believers. Weak atheism is disbelief-it requires no proofs and is the default position. Positive atheism on the other hand is no different from belief in the tooth fairy from a philosophical viewpoint. Neither can be proven.

God healed my brother from cancer, Big foot stepped on my cat and killed him, The Loch Ness swallowed a whale,And the Alien's had sex with Sigorney Weaver,So God stands out in my mind, I know he is real very real and if people would open there heart's and stop listing to man and hear what God speaks to their Heart maybe they would believe to. God is very real and if you are right and he is not i loose nothing,But if i am right you loose it all when Judgment day comes

In regards to "belief" one must recognize that this is the one and only means for deception. It is an irrefutable fact that no one has ever been deceived that didn't first believe. Further this act of belief is the only thing a con-artist must achieve in order to succeed.
Although there is much scientifically verifiable evidence which indicates their is a source to and for creation, it is ONLY a speculatively wild assumption that it is "god". Take for example the theorem that all effects(creations) must have a cause(source). This only falls short of a law of physics because currently there is no means to absolutely prove it nevertheless, there is no example available in all of existence to dispute it.
As for myself i am an absolute non-believer, as it has empowered me far, far beyond any religion has or conceivably could. The Real Creator is ONLY available through logic, belief only avails deception.
I may be reading into your question incorrectly but i must lucidly agree a belief in "god" or anything is unnecessary foolishness. As a result i offer you logical, scientifically verifiable evidence of the true Creator(no belief crap) in the form of the omnipotent and immutable law of reality, just email me. Be advised this also exposes "god" as the Destroyer/Ultimate Deceiver in disguise!

you're right, man did write the Bible. But they were inspired by God. And God is not a fantasy figure, even science (which is usually against Christianity) is proving that God existed.
