16 oz. Oreos OR 16 oz. Vanilla wafers (for Sand Pie--vanilla)
3 Cups Milk
8 oz. Cream Cheese
8 oz. Cool Whip
2 small pkgs instant pudding (chocolate for Dirt Pie, vanilla for Sand Pie)
1/2 Cup Margerine, melted
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
gummy worms (optional)
Crush cookies. Use half of them to line the bottom of a pan or a new, clean flower pot (use foil in a flower pot first).
Mix pudding, milk and vanilla til thickened. Add cream cheese, cool whip, margerine and powdered sugar (basically the rest of the ingredients except the cookies and the worms) til mixed. Pour pudding mixture over crushed cookies. Cover with remaining cookies. Put the gummy worms on top. You can use a shovel to serve the pie, or be lazy like me and just use a serving spoon.

I useful do have a 'recipe' ... make your 'crust' out of the Oreos ... yet scrape the filling right into a small bowl, and use in trouble-free terms the 'brown cookie areas' overwhelmed to a 'extremely even consistency.' Use chocolate pudding, which you additionally could make from any 'instantaneous' yet upload a minimum of three tablespoons of 'cocoa powder' or 'unsweetened cocoa powder' to make it 'darker' ... yet do no longer 'stir it' too plenty, because you decide on some 'lines' and a few 'dry airborne dirt and dust' on your pie. next, weigh down some entire oreos, and additionally 'harm up' the filling out of your 'crust cookies, yet go away the products extremely great and unusual. Now comes the exciting area ... positioned the pudding into the crust and upload the 'cookie rocks' and the 'bitter' (or no longer bitter) gummy worms. enable it 'take a seat' in the refrigerator for a minimum of two hours to 'employer' and serve. You (and that i do desire you have young little ones) will rather have exciting eating this pie (it rather is actual a delectable dessert) ... and please serve it with an 'suitable drink' ... some reliable 'dark chocolate milk' served in old shaped Coke glasses with a 'twisty straw' and an Oreo sitting on the sting of the glass, or on the 'saucer' below it!

The recipes are here, but make sure you use FOOD SAFE containers! Or line them with plastic or even foil.
Other ideas are to put them in little plastic beach pails....
Besides gummy worms and bugs we put candy rocks (they look just like little rocks.) You can even use green shredded coconut as a top layer of 'grass,' or brown sugar for 'sand.'
We used it as a soil layer lesson in a 3rd grade class, in clear cups so they could see the sedimentation, so they puts lots of stuff in there.... more than usual.
