If you were the only cancer patient to survive remission out of a hundred people, how could you thank God for answering your prayers when all those other people still died? How could you thank God for returning your child after she was kidnapped when other people have prayed and lost their child forever?

How could you not?
God has answered my prayers I dont even know why he did it for me so to even fathom why he would or would not do it for someone else is not for me to do. God has a different path for all of us everyone will not get the same in life. That is like saying why do some people get cancer and some dont? Only God can say what His reason is for the things he does and does not allow. No one deserves anything God is merciful that is why. all I know is I pray and believe wholeheartedly and he has never let me down, ever, not once. And even if he didnt I still know he knows wht is best for me. Also keep in mind not getting something when and how you wanted it doesnt mean you didnt get it! God Bless!!

dude God has a plan for everyone he gave us all the freedom to make up our own lives and he loves us no matter what. now to answer your question; things happen to different people for a reason now im not God so i cant tell you exactly what those reasons are but i do feel in my heart that there is a greater plan. when something happens to someone it isnt that God is mad he doesn't allow it to happen for nothing there is a lesson in things that happen. people open their eyes when things happen. you learn more when things happen. for example has anyone ever told you not to do something?? did you listen?? i know from experience that when someone tells me to do something i dont always do it, i find out the hard way. just like mostly everyone else on earth. there have to be sacrifices made, even if that means taking a loved one from someone to do it. do you understand?? even in your everyday life sacrifices have to be made even if it is minor. the Lord takes and he also gives / to open a door you must close a window. you must be able to let go of something to get something in return. God does not punish anyone by taking anyone else away from them. he needs them for something. i wish that i could explain this better for you, but the only thing i can tell you to do is go to your nearest christian book store and ask an associate to help you it is in the Bible somewhere but i can't remember where. i will however try and get in touch with my friends to find out. i hope that i have helped you at least a little. have a blessed day. Jesus loves everyone of you.

Just think on this, God answer the prayers of the ones who believe in Him, not from the people that do not believe in Him, that's one of the blessings christian people has. Also every time you pray is God who decides if His answering your prayer or not, depends on His will and that's why He is GOD.

There is nothing wrong with questioning why God does things that seem so unfair to people. He gave you free choice. Now it's up to you to decide if you will accept the fact that he has a reason for doing things, and we must have FAITH in him. If you continue in your search for him, all you really have to do is see the good things that happen in this world. A lot of things happen that leave us wondering, "How'd that happen?". Sure we see war, famine, and all sorts of evil in this world, but their is always evil lurking nearby. The more of us that accept God or a Higher Power that preaches LOVE, the happier you'll be...

It wasn't God's will that those prayers be answered... This does not make him bad or evil and it does not mean he is punishing you if you don't get your prayer. We are not supposed to understand everything God chooses to do or not do. I am OK with that. Others have a hard time with it. And, in case you wonder, yes I have had tragedy in my life. I have had answered and "unanswered" prayers.
The misnomer is that prayers are like wishes to a genie. They are not.

No one can understand God's actions, but like evrything, He does it for a reason. And, just because He doesn't answer your prayer today or tomorrow, it was either because He something better planned for you, or it was against His will. The Bible says that one day for man is like a 1000 years for God.

God hears all prayers and knows exactly what's in our hearts at that time. He knows us better than we know ourselves. God answers all prayers also BUT He answers them at HIS time and at HIS will, not ours. He knows what is best for us and will give us that if we deserve it. He also answers prayers in ways that we don't see them or in ways that we'd never expect.

Many kidnapped children are killed. That was done at the free-will of that murderer. But maybe God sent angels to that child so that child wouldn't be as afraid or feel any pain, and maybe God wanted that child back home with Him so He let that murderer have his free-will control that situation. I don't really know, I dont think anyone will ever know while we are on earth. But when someone dies, by any means, it's always sad and confusing and emotional. But personally I say a little prayer - "Lord, my Your perpetual light shine upon him, may he rest in peace." That prayer is asking the Lord to take that soul to Heaven quickly so that dead person's soul will be at peace forever. It part of my faith.

If God let all kidnapped children be free and return home safe (which would be great) or even not let anyone kidnap a child to begin with, God would be in complete control of people's wills and then we wouldn't have free-will. We would be controlled by God and be like robots and be nice and happy only because God forced us to be that way. If that's what He did then there would be no reason to have created us in the first place. Why would God create people to behave that exact same way and believe in the exact same thing and force/control us to worship Him? That would make God selfish, in my mind. He would have created us just to appease Himself. That makes no sense to me.

Instead He created us with free-will and takes care of us according to how we take care of Him and ourselves and others. Rapists, murderers, thieves all either know God exists or at least have heard about Him and they still choose to do these actions. But I like to believe that God is with every victim in some way, thru another human or thru an angel or thru a vision and lets that victim know that He is sad that the bad person is freely choosing this act but that God will let them feel no pain and that they will be in Heaven with Him.

For people with cancer & other illnesses, we aren't 100% sure what causes these diseases most of the time. Maybe we get cancer from smoking for 35 yrs or liver damage from drinking berr for 35 yrs. or skin cancer by not protecting our own bodies. I don't think any person deserves illnesses or diseases but we do know some ways to prevent them. We are then using our free-wills in making personal decisions as to whether we will care for our bodies or destroy them. My dad has mouth and throat cancer from smoking. He lost all his teeth and part of his jawbone and all of his salivary glands. Life is hard for him now but he now knows that he should have quit yrs ago and really wished he had never started smoking. He doesn't deserve this cancer and this suffering but he has accepted it, taken responsibility for it and still thanks God every morning that he was given another day to live and love us.

It's hard to explain and to talk about. Everyone has their own opinions and beliefs about this question. I hope I added something good to this topic. God Bless!

I know this IS hard, my cousin just lost her 40 year
old husband to cancer & now she has two young
children to raise w/ out their Daddy.

She knows that no matter how hard it gets God still
does care for her & is still there for her. She knows
that our timing is not up to us, but God & God's will
for whatever reason is NOT always the same as ours,
but that God knows what is best for each of us &
that even though we DO NOT always understand
why things happen the way they do God has a good reason for doing things the way he does .

You've got to understand that God is sovereign God. He doesn't have to tell us why he does what he does. Tell me why did he wake you up this morning, but didn't wake up others? He has a plan for everything. However, he said his ways are not our ways and our ways are definitely not his. Read the word of God and get a true understanding by praying before you study the bible for his answers.

1) because you are truly thankful that you were the one who survived or got your kid back

2) because God is an All Knowing God, and He is the only one to know when our time is up here on earth, and that its time to go Home to him. Or knows that your passing will bring out the greater good and effect the largest amount of change.

believe me, if you believe in God and Heaven, then life here on earth really is nothing compared to what awaits us.

I hope you can listen to this with an open heart
