upto 1000 mg of tylenol at a time and less than 4000 mg tylenol in a 24 hour period is safe as long as you don't ahve a liver disease history. you can 1000 mg every 6 hours as needed, if pain persists or worsens you should have it evaluated, good luck

If you have chronic pain for more than 10 days you should see a doctor - there may be a more serious cause that requires physical therapy or surgery. Tylenol is supposed to be the "safest" of the over the counter pain killers but there is still a risk of abdominal bleeding, liver problems, etc. Two pills per day are probably fine, but if you are consistently taking them every day, I would check with your doctor. Be sure to read the back of the label and follow directions explicitly to be sure you don't take too much in a 24 hour period.

2 tylenol a day wont really hurt you.
If your back is bothering you though Id sugest you try an antiimflamatory such as advil 400-600 MG twice a day. Tylenol does nothing for any swelling you may have ...a hidden cause of pain.
If your back continues to hurt give your Dr a call.
In the meantime try some ice or heat applications as well this tends to help relax it a bit. Choose whichever is best for you.
And unless you lose control of bowel or bladder you dont want to sit on your **** and do nothing this will make it harder to get going upon feeling better. It will also delay healing.
Hope you feel better soon

Tylenol has the about the same affects as asprin. You can buy asprin free tylenol. You may also want to switch it up a little. Your body can become dependent on any pain reliever. Not that you'll get addicted but it will start to take more and more pills to take the pain away. You should try motrin and alieve also.

If Tylenol is taken for a long period of time at or above the recommended dosage it can cause liver damage.

No two Tylenol a day will not hurt you but just don't exceed the recommended dose.
