Like a real live person, he has a whole range to his personality. Just as I could not describe all of you with one word, so I could not describe God in a single word or sentence.

If fact, even God could not describe himself in a single word. It took Him a library of 66 books called the Bible to make a full revelation of himself. And then He had to come down in person (Jesus) to explain it all.

He has over 400 "names" in the Bible, each listing a different quality about himself. And he is described by another couple hundred adjectives.

Perhaps the best known, and most important qualities of God is the often quoted statement by John that "God is Love". But even that does not begin to cover it all. It took Paul an entire chapter of his first letter to the Corinthians (chapter 13) just to describe what human love is and does. He did not even try to tackle divine love.

In fact, one of Paul's great prayers of the church was that "they might know the length and depth and width and height of God's love that surpasses all our understanding". The love is often gentle, encouraging, helpful, support and comforting

God has been accused of being "evil" by some people who do not understand that love is often tough also. It sometimes requires that you let people deal with the consequences of their own actions. That why they reject your love, you sometimes have to step back and let them hurt themselves. When they neglect the provisions you have made for them, then they may do without. I am sure that when a loving parent has to evict an abusive, drug using, lying, stealing child, it seems to "evil" to the child. But is actually an act of true that love that hurts the parent more than the child. Yet it has to be done. It is often the same for God.

Describe God: "God is Love". But the real understanding of what that all is and implies can take a lifetime (or even many lifetimes as it took the Bible authors around 2000 years to get it all recorded.)

God is the power of your own mind. The personality you create is the God.

If you think God is love and peace then you will find these qualities all over the universe. Even when someone is angry you will try to correlate the behavior as "the person is angry because he loves someone or needs peace".

If you think God is angry and revengefull then as i mentioned earlier, you will find these qualities everywhere.

Hateful drunkard of a dad that murders most of the world population.

Spiteful mean hearted jerk that can not stand a joke.

Not that bright of a bloke.

He is like a run away father refusing to pay child support. I think that sums him up nicely.

Cry me a few thumbs down.

Pure love. In 1 John, the apostle says that God is love. With his loves comes grace and mercy. There is nothing negative about God---he never ends anything on a negative note. We make interpret some of the acts in the Bible as negative, but they are actually meant for good.

He's not real. But, if he was, his personality would be so disfunctional it's truly scarey. For instance, because a woman looked back over her shoulder at the home she was leaving behind, she was turned to salt. But, nothing happens to paedophiles and serial killers does it? Shouldn't they at least be turned into pillars of sh.it ? Nothing in the bible makes any sense. Use it to line your kitty's litter box and be done with it.

Based upon actually reading the Bible, he is a violent, jealous, paranoid who desperately needs love and is willing to kill anyone who so much as doubts him. Were you to change "God" to "Steve", people would argue for his internment in a psychiatric hospital.

To the gentleman below: not true. God NEEDS love. Big difference. Perhaps his father never told him he loved him...

God's personality is that of a priest, a policeman, a rapist, a burglar, a nurse etc. Anyone you can think about, that is the personality that God has.
