I was constantly quoted (I Corin. 6:9-11) when I asked about Homo's in the bible. Keep in mind - I am straight with 2 little demons but I thought this was odd. So after research I found that the word "homosexual" never existed in the old bibles. ONLY THE NEW ONES PRINTED. So the church changed the words to suite it's needs. Isn't that something Satan would do? LOL - look for yourself you hypocritical liars.

I am quoting the bible verse by verse old vs. new. And you think I am making this up? I even gave a reference. Why don't you just admit it - The church changed this to promote it's personal belief - not god's.

None of this is in the old (ORIGINAL) books. Why do you believe the new one - you know, the one that changed.

This does not come as a big surprise to me.

It's the same old song and dance that has played out over the centuries.

What do you think effeminate means???????
Those who participate in homosexuality!!!!!!!!!!

The TRANSLATERS did not change the meaning of the word effeminate they made it more understandable to 20th century man..

1 Cor 6:9-11 (Amplified Version)

9Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality,10Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.

11And such some of you were [once]. But you were washed clean (purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the guilt of sin), and you were consecrated (set apart, hallowed), and you were justified [pronounced righteous, by trusting] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God.

What does the Bible say about homosexuality?

There are those who like to say that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality. Various verses are cited (out of context) and the verses that people use to show that homosexuality is wrong are explained away. The world wants to change God's words and meanings into something more suitable to its sinful desires. Nevertheless, the truth stands: The Bible condemns homosexuality as a sin. Let's look at what it says.

Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."

Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them"

1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."

Homosexuality is clearly condemned by the Bible. It goes against the created order of God. He created Adam and then made a woman. This is what God has ordained and it is what is right. Unlike other sins, homosexuality has a severe judgment administered by God Himself. This judgment is simple: They are given over to their passions. That means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins (Romans 1:18ff). As a result, they can no longer see the error of what they are doing. Without an awareness of their sinfulness, there will be no repentance and trusting in Jesus. Without Jesus, they will have no forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is no salvation.

What should be the Christian's Response to the Homosexual?

Just because someone is a homosexual does not mean that we cannot love him (or her) or pray for him (her). Homosexuality is a sin and like any other sin, it needs to be dealt with in the only way possible. It needs to be laid at the cross, repented of, and never done again.
As a Christian, you should pray for the salvation of the homosexual the same you would any other person in sin. The homosexual is still made in the image of God -- even though he is in grave sin. Therefore, you should show him same dignity as anyone else you come in contact with. However, this does not mean that you are to approve of their sin. Don't compromise your witness for a socially acceptable opinion that is void of godliness.

In 1869 the word "Homosexual" was invented so of course this word wasn't written directly in the Bible. As time changes, so does dialect. Do you speak in Elizabethan? Look at the common phrase among the older translations "nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men,"- they are talking about homosexuals!

You can read genisis where God says he created a mand and a woman form his side to be his companion and his help. They we to Replenish the earth, multiplying and making more in Gods image( not physical) Have you ever seen two men or women multiply ? No so this defeats Gods own word. Also in the book of Leviticus it says it is and abomination for a man to lay with mankind as with womankind! Check it out!

The New Testament was written in Greek. The word "homosexual" used in the the 1 Corinthian 6:9-11 text in Greek is "malakos".

MALAKOS. a. fine, soft: (n.) Male prostitute, a male homosexual who is the passive sex partner.

Look it up for yourself.

The word 'Homosexual" is not in the bible. So that makes you a liar. I read from the KJV bible. All others are diluted versions that are the word of man and not the word of God.

This is what God says about men who lay with men as they would with women.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Romans 1:26-29 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

God's word is the truth.

There's only one original, and it's in Hebrew. If you're reading something else, you're getting layers upon layers of translation. But, to paraphrase the Hebrew, it does say "a man shall not lay with a man as he would with a woman, because that's an abomination." Which is actually pretty clear.

Ummmm you dont like their translation? I dont see your point. Maybe you dont realize that effeminate was once used to mean homosexual. Homosexual is not a derogatory term. You seem very pleased that they changed this word to a more modern term in the more modern translation... its not that interesting and doesn't mean anything.

The church has done lousy things for sure, but this is a bad example.

The best answer I got on that question probably explains it way better than I could ever do :)

When answering this question, your question already got 10 'thumbs down'. Which is more proof to me how close-minded Christians are towards the truth. They simply seem to not wanna read any form of critisism, even if it's completely supported by cold hard facts.
