Take her out for a nice birthday dinner and somewhere else she may like: a play or a museum? She needs some company.

Just spend the entire day with her. Trust me, that she would like that a whole lot better than any gift you can give her. Maybe, make lunch and dinner over her home and watch a movie with her. I'm a grandma too, and I would like that soooooo much more from my children and my grandchildren than any gift in the world.

What is her interests? perhaps a ride around town, a trip to a restaurant, a bingo game, the casino, the library, the movies; get a couple of classic movies and give to her; a trip to the beach; some flowers to brighten her enviornment. something that would get her up and moving and out of the dumps.

Bake her a cake, take her to a park and have a picnic, sandwiches, or her favorite food. Buy her a new bright colored dress to make her glow. Just make the whole day about her, show her how important she is to you and your family.
