Barking dogs can't bite you while barking. Its when they stop barking and start biting you it becomes a problem. LOL! You may just have a docile dog that doesn't feel the need to bark or bite. Lucky dog! Lucky you! Count your blessings and be happy!

Its the other way around, biting dogs don't bark, largely because it is difficult to bark with a mouthful of human leg.
Some breeds of dogs just aren't barkers. Doesn't mean they plan to bite you, just means they don't bark. A lot of wolf mixes won't bark or bite, huskies aren't big barkers, etc....on and on.
I wouldn't worry about it. At least, the dog isn't barking its head off 24 hours a day!
Good Luck and Take Care

What are you worried about? Doesn't sound like much of a problem to me, unless you want your dog for a guard dog. I have 2 Siberian Huskies - one will bark if someone walks by our house or down the alley, but if someone rings the doorbell, she won't bark - she will just go to the door and wait for us to answer it. My other husky rarely barks, but will "talk" or howl, which is a common characteristic of this breed. She does the same as my other dog when someone rings the doorbell - won't bark but will run to the door and wait for us to answer it. Go figure! LOL

Which do you have a problem with? Not barking or not biting? Be grateful you have a dog without the traits that most people try to curb in theirs!

Is your dog a puppy? My dog never really barked until about 8 months old. She isn't a big barker, but does bark to alert me to things.

My dog is half Lab and half Pit Bull. He won't bark for me no matter what I do. He will, occasionally, bark if someone knocks on our door. He's only once ever shown aggression, and that seemed to be a predatory response.

Some dogs are quite. Dogs do not need to be taught how to bark--they already know.

I think that means they are barking so they are a little frightened of you so they will stay away from you as long as you leve them alone. But this is not always true. Ride a bike by one.. it will run out barking and bite you.
