I assume you are familiar with the first three commandments, It seems to me that believing in Satan is in violation of them. Prove me wrong?

smh73448: Your point is taken, but why the anger?
Though you would be correct taking the literal interpretation, most people interpret the first commandment to forbid believing in more than one supernatural being.

shadowgir... but different: Yes I believe worshipping money is a violation of the first commandment

I think there is flaw in my question in that not everyone believes in Satan or the Ten commandments in the same way. The answers most of you have given are only correct given certain assumptions that you are starting with that other people might not make. However It would be unfair for me to twist my own question such that you people would be wrong, so lets leave this as an agreement to disagree.

1: “You shall have no other gods before Me."

Ezekiel 28:14 tells us Lucifer was an "annointed cherub." He is not now, nor was he ever, a god. If I were to worship him as such, this would violate the first commandment.

2: “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments."

My answer is the same as # 1 above.

3: “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain."

If I were to believe Lucifer was my god and malign the true God, I would violate this Commandment. Since I don't worship Satan, I haven't violated it.

Peace.

The 10 Commandments say absolutely nothing about Satan.
The Bible does. Satan is what makes you think the 10 commandments include him. If the 10 commandments were followed to the "T" ,the world wouldn't be in the mess it's in today.
The first commandment means you shouldn't worship Idols. Idols are not supernatural beings.

No. Believing that Satan exists (as the Bible says he does) is NOT the same as worshiping Satan, which WOULD be a violation.

Believing is just confirming there is truth to his existence. But idolizing him as a result of your belief is totally a violation of the commandments.

God believes in Satan. Did He violate his own commandments? To believe in Satan does not mean to worship Satan.

To worship is not to believe in. The commandment says not to worship - it says nothing about believing in. Satan is in the Bible - he also started out in Heaven - so if God says he is real - then he is real.

Ah no, belief in Satan is not worshiping him. We acknowlge (sp) his existance. Money is commonly worshipped, yet we acknowlege it's existance. Is that violating a commandment?

Satan is spoken of many, many times in the Bible. Jesus warned us of his tricks. The anti-christ will carry the spirit of satan. If we believe the Bible then we believe everything in it.

No he is not a god. He is our enemy. We don't give him praise. We are to know of his schemes and wicked ways so that we will not fall to his deception.

What him and his followers don't seem to get is that Jesus and His people will always prevail!

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

What people dont' realize is that satan/ devil is the father of all who do not accept Jesus as their savior.

John 8:42-44 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

When we accept Jesus as our savior, we become adopted into God's family through salvation. The chains of bondage that satan had over us are broken and we become free from Him and then belong to God. Praise the Lord!!

Even satan "believes" in Jesus. But does satan worship Jesus? hardly!

Of course I "believe" in satan. God says he is real. Does this mean I worship satan? No. So, quite frankly I don't understand your question.
