Why Ghosts are plenty in countrysides but almost nil in the cities?

The se'irim ("hairy beings"), to which some Israelites offered sacrifices in the open fields, are satyr-like creatures, described as dancing in the wilderness (Isaiah 13:21, 34:14).

Possibly to the same class belongs Azazel, the goat-like demons of the wilderness (Leviticus 16:10ff), probably the chief of the se'irim, and Lilith (Isaiah 34:14). Azazel (Satan) was sacrificed to once yearly when Jehovah God was also sacrificed too. His sacrificed is what today is termed "the scape goat" for it had all of Israel's sins piled on it and was driven into the wilderness to where Azazel lived, then (although technically that Goat was "not followed") it was then "driven over a cliff to its death." So we see here that Demons do like it out where there is solitude for some reason.

I counter your argument that ghosts are plenty in the countrysides and seem less common in the cities:

I believe that in general, rural (and even sub-urban) citizens have a tendency to be more religious than urbanites. Consequently, they are less afraid to talk about their experiences whereas a city dweller may fear ridicule and teasing so much as to not be willing to share their story.

Probably the same reason there's more reports of UFOs and strange creatures in rural settings, because the people there don't have a lot going on and are often (not always) uneducated so they may or may not be aware of certain natural phenomenon (northern lights..)

There is too much of pollution in the cities. So they migrate to the countryside.It is easy for them..No luggage, no clothings, no nothing. Just fly over there ...feeeeewwwww.

Duh... it is becoz of the level of awareness and lack of education amongst the villagers that they beleive in such things.

The countryside atmosphere is very conducive for such thoughts Fear is the basis for such thoughts and in lonely places the mind gets possessed by thoughts. ..

Maybe the ghosts do not like the huslte and bustle of the big city..maybe they prefer quiet country life. I know if I was dead I would prefer peace and quiet! :-)
