As you can see fro all the answers you have received and quite correctly the main ingredient is vodka, it is mixed with Kahlua in a 2 to1 ratio over ice. Do not add coke do not use Tia Maria these are poor latter day variations on the theme. Cheers

black russian is a mix of
30 ml vodka
30 ml khalua
and if u add 1/2 and 1/2 milk and cream
the name will quikly become
white russian
