iTunes 7 has higher system requirements the minimum is the same but there is a recommended system requirements know! It is a processor running at 2.0GHz and 256MB Ram. Newer versions of software all ways runs slower e.g. Windows 95 runs faster than Windows 98 and 2000 is faster than XP.

Please check the system requirement for itune v7.i think itune v7 system requirement is not match with your system.so better you upgrade ur system or use lower version of itune.
