Last night, I tripped over a toy in the dark and fell on my vaccum cleaner. I hurt my whole left side from calf to elbow but this morning, my rear end is all bruised and I can't sit down.. what can I do ( heat/cold packs) or take (tylenol/advil) to make it feel better?

Hot or Cold packs could help to relieve some of the discomfort. Also, Tylenol and Advil can help to relieve pain. If the pain is severe, you could try rotating Tylenol and Advil every 3 or 4 hours. Warm baths might help, only be very careful when you are getting into and out of the tub, sometimes it is very difficult when you are bruised like that. I had a broken tail bone several years ago and the healing was a long process and there is not much medically you can do to make it better other than take meds for the pain.

I would try soaking in a warm or hot bath. A warm bath with some epsom salt shold help ease the pain. Also you could also take something over the counter for the pain too.

I would call my doctor ASAP. I hope you didn't hurt your back....i would get him to do some X-rays of my back and backside...i would soak in a warm bath for the time being and take an advil or alieve.....................but that is NOT good that you can't even sit down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have severe scoliosis and a very bad back so that is why i am telling you to get to a doctor and get it checked out.......now...before you get worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For injuries its simple: RICE.

R- Rest . Give it time to heal
I- Ice. helps with pain and swelling
C- Compression. Helps with swelling and movement
E- Elevation. Ok, sitting around with your butt up in the air is probably not a good idea, but elavating your feet would be.
