i believe stress has a lot to do with depression. The say is a chemical imbalance but if it was true then everyone would be cured with the medicine they have out now at days. When i get depressed is usually cuz i'm worried about something and cuz i have no control over the outcome. I feel that's usually how someone feels about them selves that leads to depression.

Both.
A lot of stress, depending on what's causing it (usually some kind of loss) can lead to depression. There are some people, though, that have nothing bad happening in their lives that are depressed because of an imbalance in the brain.

~Stress can lead to depression...depression is a chemical but as for an imbalance that depends on weather you are depressed because your Dog died or if your depressed because you just got devoriced ....if your depressed all day everyday and you have a seemingly happy life and/or you just don't know why your depressed then I would say Yes its a imbalance~~~> ;o}
