PS I didn't give in and this is day three with NO smokes and day 1 with no patch!! I'm really proud of me!! Oh and I work in an office with all smokers that smoke inside the building…

Been there done that. I quit 3 months ago and the first 3 weeks are the hardest. So you're in for some bad times, but if you can get past those 3 weeks you should be good! I started out using the gum and hated it. I decided after about 3 days that the gum was crap and just quit on my own. For about a week I wanted to punch every person I laid eyes on. That's how annoyed I was. All I thought about was smoking. But after the third week, I'd go a whole day without even thinking about it. Then at night I'd realize I just went a whole day and didn't even think about smoking! It gets easier. Stick through it! You can do it. Good luck!!!!!

I quit 2 years ago. Same situation. Here's some tips:

Get yourself a bunch of Altoids. The strongest ones you can get. Suck on those when you have a craving or when you smell others smoking.

Get fit while quitting. When you have a bad craving, climb up and down the stairs at work. It not only helps you ride out the craving, you also get fit, plus its a negative reinforcement. Your body will learn that when you have a craving its going to have to work out. Pretty soon your cravings will seem less bad because you don't want to be running stairs all day!

No alcohol. It just makes you want to smoke.

I just hope I never start. Although, price is a good reason. I, personally, don't understand why people insist on spending so much on something so harmful. But whatever, who am I to judge? I know people who smoke who are great people.
