I know that there is a slight chance of it comming back after the surgery, but do you have any good doctors (preferably in the Cleveland area) where you can get it removed? Also, how much do you think it would cost? Is there a way that you can, like, remove it yourself? And for the last question, after you remove it, would you be able to, like but this tight thing around it so then another keloid won't be created and swell.

Try calling The Clinic (Cleveland Clinic)...but if you were from Cleveland, you'd know that.

They have the best doctors, if anyone can do it, they can.

Probably a Chemical peel or dermabrasion from a dermatologist.

Otherwise your stuck having to cut it off and praying another Keloid doesn't form. Also, ask the Dermatologist if there are any new laser or other treatments for them. But the ONLY safe way is by going to a dermatologist.

As far as I know, you cannot. If you cut it out, another keloid will form (maybe bigger).

However, a doctor friend of mine is getting interested in a field called "prolotherapy" (?sp) and I am intending to take a bit of a look at it and see what it's about.

Apparently if you inject scars with some stuff, you can make them shrink. This is what I'm told. I have not verified this information for myself, nor do I know if it will work on keloids.

On first glance it seems to be for ligaments and tendons.

You can cut it and it heals but it can grow again unless you use cortisosteroids shots. Cortisosteroid shots help with the inflammation and hinder the process of healing to avoid the overproduction of collagen fibers.
