Since my question below got knowed back a few pages and there seems to be a question about debates today

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqHkZEDeXkg90O2Mn0rKsEHsy6IX?qid=20060920083705AAWU4aA

There would be three teams:

Theists - This would be those who beleive in a god
Agnostics - Those who are not sure
Atheists - Those who "know" there is no god...

I put the word know in quotes to eliminate those atheists who use the phrase "I beleive that there is no god"..

Pick three members for each team (for a total of 9 participants), they have to be a semi-regular to regular poster in this section...

To clarify the agnostic/atheist question:

My definition is that if an atheist's statement is "I believe that there is no god", then they are an agnostic. An atheist's statement should be "I know there is no god"

I wanted to be as open as possible for the thesis side but if you want to call it a christian team, that is acceptable. By goal was not to exclude Jewish and Muslim posters but the more the merrier I say.

Who would be on the Jewish team?

Who would be on the Muslim team?

Well since you've asked this question again, I won't have to go back and reply on the original post. Thanks.

I'm not sure enough of everyone's beliefs, so I can only give one name for each category. Sorry.

Theists: Debra M.
Agnostics: Jim Darwin
Atheists:Lucky Fokker
Muslims: Poki Poki

As I've stated, I'm not sure of everyone's beliefs, and I don't want to blindly copy everyone elses answers.

Hmm. I know there is no god, and I am not sure, if by that you mean "100% certain".

That agnostic/atheist distinction makes no sense to me.

Later:
I know there is no god.
I also believe there is no god.
I am not certain that there is no god.

It's also true that... (and for the same reason)
I know there are no lime green flying elephants.
I believe that there are no lime green flying elephants.
I am not certain that there are no lime green flying elephants.

Hence the agnostic/atheist distinction makes no sense to me.

I'd love a go-around, but I will not defend generic theism, only Christian theism.
