FROM THE MIDWEST MUCH?????????

hehehehehe! just joking! They can be bad. Very good as in weight and calorie intake. But artificial sweeteners have been shown in studies to cause cancer. But it is definitely better than regular pop as you would call it.

NO, diet soda's are terrible for you for 2 reasons.

1. ASPARTAME/NUTRASWEET: This chemical is derived from a similar process as MSG and has much of the same properties in that it bloats you and will actually make you gain weight rather than lose it. You'd almost be better off with a sugared pop other than the obvious caloric content.

2. CARBONATION: There's something about carbonation that just doesn't sit well with your body when consumed in large quantities - it's ok once or twice a week or to help settle the stomach, but more than that is not good for ya.

If you absolutely have to have soft drinks, at least find some with Splenda (not much better than Aspartame, but at least it won't fatten you up!). Coke had one out for a while, I don't know if it's still around.

There are all kinds of rumors about cancer from some types of artificial sweetners but I don't think that there has been one proven case. I always go with the no caffeine diet cola. The phosphoric acid in most sodas is bad for your teeth because it changes the pH in the oral cavity and permits the erosion of tooth enamel. Drinking one soda a day would not pose a problem, but drinking several daily might.

It's fake... it can't possibly be good for you. Some studies have shown that artificial sweeteners may be dangerous. Caffiene is a diurectic, so any caffinated soda is not good for keeping you hydrated. I'm not sure if diet soda is better or worse than regular. Do you want to be fat or get cancer? The high fructose corn syrup used to sweeten regular soda is some pretty nasty stuff. Water is best, I drink diet soda rather than regular, but I limit my consumption. I don't think scientists will know the truth about artificial sweeteners for years.

Well, it's not good for you. There are ones that are better than others. Stay away from caffeine if you can. Also, the brown colas stain the teeth, so stick with Sprite Zero or Diet Sierra Mist. I'm a personal fan of Diet Squirt, it's delicious!

Your question concerns me...

Everybody should have the right to chose what they eat or drink, but it worries me that you might think that it is not bad for you!

Put it like this:

THERE IS NOT ONE INGREDIENT IN ANY SODA THAT YOUR BODY NEEDS!

Yes, some clever sod will come back with: "what about water?" Well, there is so much other crap in it that it even dehydrates your body so the water is no use anyway.

Water or fresh fruit juice is much better for you! Try buying a juicer and drinking freshly-squeezed fruit juice. You will be amazed how much healthier and active you feel, and how your concentration will imrove!

Yes ..... Remember anything that tastes good isn't good for you. It's a rule. But since regular soda tasts better than diet you can assume that regular soda is worse for you than diet soda.
