Speaking of city proper, Berlin is much bigger. In fact, it is more than seven times bigger.

City of Berlin population (2005): 3,395,189
City of Atlanta population (2005): 470,688

However, looking beyond the cities to the surrounding urban area, including suburbs and such, Atlanta is a bit bigger.

Greater Berlin population (2006): 4,200,000
Greater Atlanta population (2006): 5,100,000

They are both big cities, with Atlanta's suburbs it probably has a similar population to Berlin, several million. But they are two very different cities. You will have to see for yourself, enjoy!
