any ideas why this could be happening?

I had the same problem
I seeked advice from a Orthopedic specialist
I had a pelvic ultrasound
I had a Ct of the spine
I had a bone scan to check for Cancerous tumors
I had a MRI
all came back negative
I went to my GYN- had a Uterine Ultrasound- I had a huge fibroid pushing on my spine
Had surgery to remove it.. now
AHHHH no more pain

i had the same issue. i let it go thinking nothing until it became persistent. turned out to be a pilonidal cyst flair up. i had left it alone long enough it became inflamed and abscessed. so best thing i can say talk to your doc. let them check it

do you sit all day long? sometimes sitting on it will cause it to hurt a little. depending on you height and weight will also cause problems. try some simple lower body exercises, if that doesn't help...talk to your doctor.
