She kicked my dog last night for chewing her shoe. I told her my dog chews on things left on the floor, she left her shoes and purse on the floor in the living room. The dog was laying on the dress eating the shoe. The dog loves her, she got mad and kicked him. I understand she loved the shoes, but I love my dog. We've only been dating a month or so, but I don't know if I can deal with that sort of thing. I'm don't want to be a shallow guy and choose my pooch over my girl, but what do I do. I've had my dog 8 years and her for one month. Where does my loyalty lie?

that's tough but u had that dog for 8 years and she a month. who's to guarantee that she will be with you the next month? however the pooch will be there until he dies. plus why do u want someone that mistreats your pet like that? she didn't have to kick it. that's animal cruelty. she wouldn't want u kicking her like that. at least u see now what her attitude is towards your dog and what to expect if u do decide to stay with her. that dog is your love and she basically disrespected you and the dog. And what gives her the audacity to kick your dog after only being with you for a month? I guess she just made herself at home hasn't she? Man's best friend is forever. I say choose the dog.

Kicked like how? HARD?? Yeah pets are more important than people. You can tell alot about a person by the way they treat animals. Obviously we have learned that she is violent when she is mad and she has no respect for others. She also has no common sence, sence kicking a dog can result in being attacked or bitten which then she would have to go to the doctor and likley the dog would have to be put down. So I don't know what to tell you but you should think it over. I know no one touches my cat or i'll flip you probably are the same with the dog. I think I might give her another chance but if she treated my animal like that again I would be done but that is just me

Ok, if it is a known rule of the house, then if she leaves something on the floor...it is fair game for your dog. However, stopping or trying to stop your dogs chewing problem seems to be recommendable. (my spelling is off today) Her shoes weren't free, they cost money! So, she has a rite to be upset. However, kicking a dog is abusive. Having a talk with your girl on the correct way you discipline him is important. A compromise, getting your dog to stop chewing and she abiding by the house rule. Have a talk with her about the way you feel in reference to your dog, but leave room to talk about her being upset about her property. Find a way to make you and her both happy in this matter. If you don't talk with her, the issue doesn't seem like it will be resolved!

She should have not kicked your dog. You warned her about putting things on the floor. I mean I could understand why she got mad, but she took it to far. If she cant respect your dog, is she going to kick you if you make her mad?

If you talk to her and tell how how you do not appreciate her kicking your dog, and she apologizes then give her another shot, but if she is always going to be like that, put her in the dog house lol.

If she treated your dog like that then you should have a talk with her. Not a yell, a talk. Tell her that she should not have done that to your dog. Let her know that it was not the right thing to do and to not leave her stuff on the floor. It's not the dogs fault it was on the floor. The dog can't make that decision, but she can. If she does it again then tell her it's over. You shouldn't be with someone who direspects your property. It's not right.

Give her another chance unless she injured your dog.
Kicking an animal that isn't yours is not a good idea- like spanking someone elses kid in my opinion.
Explain- your dog is learning not to chew on things- your sorry that happened, but not to leave her things where the dog can get to them. If she is mean to the dog agin- say good bye- and tell her why.

I don't think it's so much an issue of choosing the dog over her. If someone kicks my dog, they're out of there. You don't going around kicking animals.

maybe you should kick her azz and see if she likes it...my dog is 10 mos. old and if anyone kicked him they will be getting kicked right back without a doubt. you are a good one for not getting angry on the spot! there is nothing wrong with leaving that one alone...you don't want her getting the wrong impression that it's okay for her to discipline your dog like that.

Next time she kicks your dog, kick her! No, seriously, tell her to respect your dog or cut her loose. It's not just a dog. It's important to you, I understand. I treat my dog as well as my daughter and husband.
